We are looking for an experienced Permanent Site or Senior Site Manager to oversee the successful delivery of commercial and industrial new build projects, typically valued between £3 million and £8 million. The ideal candidate will come from a joinery background and have a strong track record in managing both direct employees and subcontractors on-site. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.Key Responsibilities:As the Site Manager, you will lead and manage all construction activities on-site, ensuring that projects are completed on schedule and to the required quality standards. This includes developing and maintaining project schedules, monitoring progress, and overseeing site logistics, including material deliveries and equipment management. You will manage and coordinate both direct staff and subcontractors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across the team. Regular site meetings with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders will be a key part of your role, where you will discuss progress, address issues, and plan upcoming work.In addition to managing the day-to-day operations, you will also be responsible for ensuring full compliance with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment at all times. This includes conducting regular site inspections and risk assessments, and taking immediate corrective actions when necessary. As the designated first aider on-site, you will also be responsible for responding promptly to any incidents.Quality control is another critical aspect of the role. You will monitor construction activities closely to ensure they adhere to design specifications, quality standards, and client requirements. Any quality issues will need to be addressed and resolved promptly, with appropriate corrective measures implemented. Cost management is also a key responsibility, where you will manage project budgets, review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices, and identify potential cost overruns.Client liaison is a significant part of the role. You will serve as the primary point of contact for clients on-site, ensuring their expectations are met and any concerns are addressed promptly. Regular updates on project progress will be provided to both clients and senior management.Qualifications and Experience:The ideal candidate will hold an SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certificate, a CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card, and a First Aid certification. You should have proven experience as a Site Manager, with a background in managing commercial and industrial new build projects, particularly those with values ranging from £3 million to £8 million. Experience in managing both direct employees and subcontractors is essential.
