Role overview:



We are looking for a Senior Journalist with experience in covering global affairs and a track record of journalistic or academic publications.



You will produce articles for Post factum, reviewing major geopolitical events, conducting fact-based data-driven analysis of their consequences.

You will be encouraged to pitch topics and take part in strategic content planning, as well as working on commissioned topics.



We expect you to have a proven understanding of economics, politics and fact-checking standards, likely from previous high-level journalistic work or academic publications.



This is currently a freelance position, as Post factum is not yet registered as a payroll employer.

However, we are interested in regular contributors and offer contracted arrangements, with opportunities for future formal full-time employment.



We offer premium compensation.

Responsibilities:



  • Working on a self-pitched or pre-assigned topic, conduct in-depth research and analysis of the event, ensuring a multi-dimensional approach to unpacking its consequences
  • Identify and study most relevant academic and journalistic publications, establishing the cutting-edge of available knowledge on the issue
  • Write compelling data-driven articles that engage and inform our audience
  • Ensure high standards of fact-checking and impeccable accuracy
  • Create concepts for data visualisations and infographics illustrating the publications
  • Engage in back-and-forth editing process of the draft
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to develop content strategy and future topics
  • Stay on top of global events and identify emerging trends that align with our content focuses







Requirements:
