What you’ll do

Vodafone Business (‘VF Business’) provides mobile, fixed and unified communications, IoT, cloud and security services to Vodafone’s business customers across the world. The Senior International Tax Manager for VF Business has responsibility for leading the international tax team comprising 2 tax professionals based in Newbury providing international tax advice, support, tax compliance, process management and tax planning to VF Business. This includes managing the team and advisors responsible for compiling, reviewing and submitting tax returns for entities within the VF Business organisation globally, establishing close working relationships with key VF Business commercial, finance and legal stakeholders and advising on tax risks and opportunities across a range of activities.

  • Management of international tax support and partnering with the business to establish and address specific business tax issues, covering the global expansion of the VF Business footprint, M&A, permanent establishment risk, transfer pricing, indirect tax, withholding tax and other international tax issues.
  • Represent tax at key finance Steering Committees, providing appropriate tax guidance on key business issues.
  • Management and mitigation of tax exposure and support and resolution of tax controversies across VF Business.
  • Management of a network of effective relationships, communication and team working with relevant functions (Legal, Regulatory, FinOps, M&A, Treasury, Holding Company management), and with Local Market Tax Teams to leverage in-house expertise to deliver sound business advice
  • Leadership, development and motivation of the international direct tax team based in Newbury as well as close coordination with teams in the US and Singapore in ensuring high quality support is provided to the VF Business activities globally.
  • Who you are

  • At least 10 years experience
  • Chartered Institute of Tax (CTA) and /or ACA/ACCA
  • Big 4 or Industry experience.
  • Experience of working in a complex environment across multiple teams.
  • International VAT and corporate tax experience gained from working for 10 years or more either with an accountancy firm or within a large MNC in industry
