Job Role

This role is a crucial part of the SPS people team, you will support the HR Business Partners to provide advice, guidance on HR related matters. You will have a focus on management of ER cases with the ability to impart advice and guidance on; employee relations, performance and employee engagement building close working relationships with operational managers and the wider HR team.

Key Responsibilities

Employee Relations Advice (80%):

  • Provides first line of advice and resolution to managers on a broad range of employee issues including general HR issues, policy interpretation, performance management.
  • Provide welfare support to employees across business unit(s).
  • Working alongside the ER Manager and The People Office Team to provide consistent and accurate first line consultancy support to operational managers across SPS business units/sites.
  • Develops recommendations to enhance individual team and business unit effectiveness; creating, accessing and analysing HR metrics.
  • Proactive HR advice/interventions on mitigating areas of concern within business unit(s) covering core people areas such as absence trends.
  • Complete full administration relating to ER cases.
  • Escalates any complex ER cases and projects to HRBP’s and/or ER Manager.
  • Support HRBP’s and/or ER Manager on TUPE In/Out.

General HR (20%):

  • Work closely with HR administrators on any complex and escalated HR administration tasks.
  • Responding to HR queries from HR inbox
  • Ensures compliance with applicable Employment Legislation and Company policies and practices.
  • Contributes to the review and development of HR policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to the planned continuous improvement of the HR function.
  • Travel to SPS and client locations throughout UK & ROI when required.
  • Performs other related duties as may reasonably be required.

Previous Experience

  • Relevant experience in a commercial organisation of 200+ people.
  • Handling low level Employee Relations matters, e.g. sickness, grievances and disciplinaries.
  • Exposure/involvement in HR and organisational change programmes.
  • Some experience of TUPE transfers in and out would be desirable.

Qualifications and Training

  • Foundation Level CIPD or equivalent.

Salary Range: £40,000 - £45,000 (Depending on Experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday)
