What experience a Senior Design Engineer needs to have? - A highly-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experienced and qualified in Electrical Distribution Design up to and including 132kV.
- Demonstrated experience in managing a portfolio of designs efficiently.
- Possess a clean current driving licence.
Some of the responsibilities of a Senior Design Engineer? - Be familiar with and stay abreast of changes to UKPN G81 Design Specifications, ensuring that relevant changes are communicated to the design tech.
- Manage the design team to produce effective designs to conform with all relevant Codes of Practice.
- Ensure design compliance with the CDM 2015 regulation
- Ensure high standards of safety management throughout all areas of responsibility.
- Produce Design Stage Risk Assessments and Hazard Elimination & Management Lists for the safe delivery of project work as and when required
- Generate accurate, cost reflective estimates and produce design work packs to a high standard.
- Liaise with and manage relationships with High Speed 2 and their contractors with the aim of meeting their expectations wherever possible.
- Effectively manage the team’s workload and keep the company informed of any potential resource constraints/requirements.
- Work as a team player, contributing to ad-hoc tasks and developing additional skills where required to improve UKPN outputs.
