Your role will involve working with selected regional brokers to optimise profitable growth. You will apply a range of underwriting, relationship management and business development techniques to help achieve this growth. This applies to new business cases within our agreed process and defined underwriting appetite.You will spend most of your time working with your broker panel, identifying, discussing, negotiating and converting new business opportunities and making effective underwriting decisions. This is an exciting opportunity and you will be dealing mainly with scheduled single period risks with premiums ranging from £2,500 up to £500,000+. There will be some Multi insurer policies included as well as some annualised policies.
About You To be successful in your role of Construction underwriter you will require experience in Construction Underwriting. You will have a real passion and hunger to write some complex risks, many of which will be in and around the London area. Preferably you will have experience of writing single period risks. You will need to have experience of building relationships with brokers and/or customers and write profitable business to ensure growth of the account.
