This vital role involves supporting the registered manager and deputy manager in the daily operations of a residential home for children.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional care and support to children and adolescents, ensuring their individual needs are met with dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities: * Perform shift work according to the staff rota and collaborate effectively as part of a team.

* Assist the registered manager with various aspects of the home's operations.

* Assess and evaluate the individual needs of the children and young people to develop personalized care plans.

* Provide personal care and attention to young people.

* Promote the social and emotional well-being and development of young people, aiming to enhance their skills.

* Help the registered manager run the home efficiently, ensuring compliance with all legislation and regulations.

* Stay informed about quality standards, relevant legislation, and inspection frameworks, implementing changes as needed.

* Contribute to inspections conducted by OFSTED and external professionals.

* Follow individual care plans, accurately administer medication, and maintain proper records.

* Establish and maintain effective communication and good relationships with young people, relatives, employees, and external professionals.

* Conduct regular assessments to ensure a supportive and caring environment.

* Assist the registered manager with prospective/potential residents, providing relevant information, guided tours, and ensuring appropriate arrangements for each resident.

* Liaise with other staff, parents, and carers as necessary, maintaining a high level of professionalism.

* Promote and safeguard the welfare of young people, staying current on changes in safeguarding legislation and policy.

* Attend relevant internal and external meetings/training as requested.

* Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others.

Qualifications and Experience: * Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within a residential care setting.

* Must have an NVQ Level 3 or 4 in children’s residential care.

* Must have a full UK drivers’ licence.

* Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.

* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
