A dedicated SEN school in the Southampton area is seeking an enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their team.

This role focuses on teaching a range of English, Maths, and Science to students with SEMH, starting in September.

The contract is long-term, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.

About the School:Located in Southampton, this SEN school caters to students aged 4 to 16 years, with a total of around 80 students.

The school is renowned for its high teaching standards and a collaborative, supportive team environment.

The school offers on-site parking and is dedicated to educating children with various needs, including Autism, ADHD, and particularly SEMH.

Responsibilities:Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in English, Maths, and Science, tailored to the individual needs of students with SEMH.

Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students, ensuring their progress and development.

Use various teaching strategies, resources, and assistive technologies to support diverse learning styles and abilities.

Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and parents to provide a cohesive and inclusive learning experience.

Regularly monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching methods as necessary.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, independence, and confidence.

Requirements:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.

Specialisation or experience in teaching students with SEMH needs.

Understanding of SEMH conditions, learning difficulties, and appropriate teaching methodologies.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and external support services.

Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development of students with SEMH.
