SEND Teacher The Role The classes are structured around ability rather as opposed to age and pupils will have a range of needs from moderate to severe. You will work alongside experienced SEND teachers and leaders in curriculum planning and preparation. There are a number of dedicated and experienced support staff based in the class to support the pupils across all learning and development activities. You will be teaching a broad curriculum based on supporting students to make academic, social and emotional progress through a range of class-based and enrichment learning activities. The school are looking for qualified and experienced teachers with previous experience in a special needs school or a mainstream primary or secondary teachers who would like to pursue a career within the special needs sector. These roles are offered on an ongoing contract basis initially until July 2025 with the potential for the role to be extended.
