Are you a Science Technician seeking a new, exciting opportunity? Empowering learning are working with a Secondary school in West Bromwich who are recruiting for a Science Technician to join them in September on a full-time basis.This role is starting in September and will be for the full academic year with the potential to go permanent.Responsibilities as a Science TechnicianProviding technical support for teaching staff in the Science departmentFollowing procedure for stock control and ordering of practical resourcesSetting up equipment for practical lessonsMaintenance and cleaning of equipment including identifying and reporting repairs that may be needed.Confidence in using machinery and tools.Maintaining tidy classrooms/workshops and ensuring materials are safely stored and labelled.Mounting work and creating displays.Writing and reviewing Health and Safety procedures including Risk AssessmentsScheduling annual machine inspections and liaising with inspection staffUndertaking training in order to effectively carry out this role.Ad hoc duties as directed by line managers Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills.To apply for this Science Technician role, you will need:Experience working in schools in the UK is desirable not essential.Experience working in a laboratoryRelevant qualifications or experience in science or a related field.Strong technical skills with an understanding of current Science tools.A genuine passion for education and the ability to inspire young learners.Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of students, with adherence to all safeguarding protocols and background checks.Independently Working through Empowering Learning, you can expect:Competitive rates of pay - £85- £100 per day!Regular CPD opportunities including Team TeachA dedicated consultant available alwaysHoliday pay and pension contributionsWhat should you do next?
