An exciting opportunity has opened in our London office for a Risk Analyst to join our Risk Management Team, focusing on identifying and monitoring operational, credit and market risks. This role entails supporting the firm’s control framework by conducting control effectiveness testing and assurance monitoring across all functions.

The successful candidate will evaluate adherence to policies and risk appetite, including incident escalation processes, and assess the risks associated with first line of defence (1LOD) business activities. Additionally, the role involves assisting in compiling and maintaining a comprehensive control framework for risk management activities and supporting business lines and functions in identifying risks from the First Line.

  • Extensive experience in Operational Risk, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Solid Incident Management experience
  • Minimum Undergraduate Degree
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude.
  • Clear communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Day to day management of all risk incidents
  • Incident escalation and daily business area engagement to close out incidents.
  • Identifies and escalates issues, taking proactive steps to address the root causes of risks and operational losses.
  • Device risk mitigation strategy by co-ordinating with other business areas
  • Deliver Daily Management Information on various risk indicators.
  • Manages an inventory of processes, risks, controls, and associated metrics for risk appetite and limits, reporting any violations of operational and regulatory activities.
  • Reviews and challenge processes and risks, promoting a cohesive process and control inventory within the firm's GRC software solution.
  • Facilitates firm-wide root cause self-assessments for isolated events, thematic issues, or trends, considering identified regulatory changes.
  • Actively participates in governance forums, offering advice, review, and challenge.
  • Supports the development of operational risk management capabilities across the business, including embedding risk appetite, policies, frameworks, processes, RCSAs, risk event reporting, scenario analysis, and MI.
  • Assists in designing, implementing, and managing the firm's Governance, Risk & Compliance system to support risk and control management.
  • Builds the annual risk and control self-assessment process and challenges submissions from the first line of defence.
  • Aids the Risk Manager in managing daily risk management activities.
  • Implements enhancements to the firm’s control framework.
  • Perform second line monitoring of business processes including safeguarding, payments, consumer duty and other.
  • Acts as the secondary contact for all staff queries related to operational risk.
