Integrity Education Solutions are supporting a residential care services provider for children and young people with complex needs.

They are seeking to appoint a Residential Children’s Home Manager for one of their children’s homes based in Essex, on a permanent basis from January 2025 or sooner (Dependent on availability).

As a care provider, they focus on creating a safe, nurturting and supportive environment that enables children to strive and reach their full potential.

You will be passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people and will be tasked with leading and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the residential children’s home.

This role is crucial in ensuring that each child receives the highest standard of care, support, and development in a safe and nurturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Operational Management: Oversee the smooth running of the residential children’s home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.

* Staff Leadership: Lead, train, and motivate a team of residential support workers, fostering a positive and supportive team culture.

* Care Planning: Develop and implement individualized care plans in consultation with key stakeholders, regularly reviewing and updating them to meet the evolving needs of each child.

* Safeguarding: Maintain a safe, secure environment, strictly adhering to safeguarding policies.

Act promptly to address any safeguarding concerns.

* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including Ofsted regulations and inspection frameworks.

* Budget Management: Efficiently manage the home’s budget, allocating resources to meet the needs of children while maintaining financial sustainability.

* Partnerships: Collaborate with external agencies, including local authorities, health services, schools, and community organizations, to provide holistic care.

* Quality Assurance: Implement systems to monitor and continuously improve the quality of care and outcomes for children.

* Transitions Support: Facilitate smooth transitions for children entering or leaving the home, ensuring continuity of care.

* Advocacy: Champion the rights and well-being of children and young people, empowering them to participate in decisions that affect their lives.

KEY EXPERIENCE AND KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

* Minimum of 5 years working in residential child care, including at least 1 year as a registered manager.

* Proven leadership skills in managing a residential children’s home, including staff management and service delivery.

* Extensive knowledge and experience in safeguarding children and young people.

* Ability to develop and implement person-centred care plans tailored to individual needs.

* Strong track record in monitoring and improving care quality.

* Competence in managing budgets and resources effectively.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, staff, and external stakeholders.

* In-depth understanding of relevant UK legislation, including The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Children Act 1989 and 2004.

* Experience in managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies and therapeutic interventions.

* Awareness of cultural diversity and commitment to promoting inclusive practices.

* Adherence to professional codes of ethics and a commitment to the rights and dignity of children and young people in care.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Essential: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services, or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.

Continuous Professional Development: Commitment to ongoing learning and development.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 (Dependent on experience)
