Madisons Recruitment are currently working with a highly reputable commercial contractor in their search for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is based in their head office in Barking therefore candidates must be located within a commutable distance to the Barking area.
Your responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining upon client relationships.
- Commercially management of contracts: application preparation, Identify and value client change requests, managing client valuations.
- Serve contract notices in accordance with the contract, and customer / company policy.
- Sub-Contractor commercial management: Tendering process and negotiations, Placing orders, and contracts. Managing subcontractors’ applications, variations, payments, and final accounts.
- Ongoing liaison with site team, subcontractors, and Customers’ representatives.
- Project Reporting. Reporting to Senior staff; Compiling Monthly CVR Reports and commercial risk report and cost forecast.
- Building and implementing systems of work within the QS department to achieve the above.
Requirements:
- Degree Quantity Surveying / equivalent qualification
- 5- 8 years of relevant QS construction experience
- Knowledge in construction planning and understanding of construction execution.
- Ability to manage contracts, calculations, and budgets
- Positive, Self-assured and motivated
- Productive, flexible and eager to learn
- A natural leader, motivating and inspiring
- Willing to travel across the country and abroad as required
