We are a well-established import and distribution company seeking to expand our purchasing team and are looking for an experienced candidate to support the day-to-day operations of all aspects of procurement. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and hardworking individual to build a long-term career within a friendly and growing business. The role involves coordinating purchasing and overseeing the supply chain process for all materials, goods, and services needed to meet customer requirements.

Duties

Assist in purchasing materials, goods, and services to meet customer order requirements
Place and manage purchase orders based on requisitions or customer contracts
Liaise with marketing and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of label artwork
Determine customer requirements before shipping products
Ensure product deadlines are met, approvals are obtained, and stock quality is maintained
Arrange for sample production when necessary
Organize, follow up, and monitor logistics for all purchase orders until goods are delivered
Manage and authorize relevant documentation (invoices, certificates) ensuring full product traceability
Update systems, document processes, and provide necessary stock documentation
Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve any outstanding issues
Collaborate with the purchasing team leader to create new stock codes in the purchasing management system
Skills and experience

Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
Initiative, work ethic and attention to detail will be highly regarded.
Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure
A team player
Strong organisational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
Analytical skills
Self-motivated and ambitious
Willingness to learn
Excellent customer service skills
A good negotiator
Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate
Relevant GCSE with English and Maths
