Overview:

Pareto FM, the socially led, relationship based, fast growing facilities management business is looking to recruit its first dedicated procurement colleague to set up and run its procurement function. This is an exciting opportunity to build a procurement function from scratch from within to deliver significant value to the business and its customers while helping reinforce the company’s founding principles across the supply chain.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will be required to drive the procurement activity across the business liaising with all the key stakeholders to determine their product and service needs. Ambitious in its growth plan through both an organic and acquisition strategy this role will be critical in reviewing, assessing, onboarding and rationalising a significant number of additional supply chains from new customers and acquired businesses.

Using existing platforms, the role with involve collecting, processing and analysing supplier spend data to help our stakeholders uncover buying patterns, to help nurture effective supplier partnerships, to gain insights to support our strategic sourcing planning and to track procurement performance to optimise cost and value.

This role will need to drive reporting on Procurement metrics and KPI’s, including budgeted and actual savings, to the Executive management team and our Private Equity shareholders.

Key responsibilities :

  • Establish a procurement function across the business building a procurement strategy fit for a business with an ambitious growth plan including M&A
  • Engage with stakeholders from customer contracts to overheads to understand business needs
  • Develop and lead the delivery of procurement strategies relating to all spend areas.
  • Lead the procurement negotiations to optimise overall commercial position.
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process (including SRM) for key contracts in collaboration with key business areas
  • Develop supplier and sub-category strategies as appropriate.
  • Ensure processes and procedures are fully documented and followed.
  • Work closely with the sustainability team to manage supply chain in line with sustainability strategy and the founding principles of the business.
  • Deliver competitive advantage through cost savings, lifecycle value generation, demand management.
  • KPI & Objectives Dashboard: - liaising with divisional Procurement teams to prepare timely, accurate metrics to comprehensively report on Procurement activity
  • Executive reporting: - collation of inputs required from "Heads of" for reporting to the executive management team. Preparation of presentations to same audience
  • Running ad hoc reports for Procurement and the Business, as required

Experience and Qualifications :

  • Strong Excel skills, including knowledge of large spreadsheets, pivot tables, sorting, charts, IF statements and VLOOKUPS
  • Excellent Attention to detail
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, comfortable dealing with stakeholders in other teams across all levels of the business
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable preparing reports for senior and executive management and presenting to same
  • Critical thinking, able to gain useful insights and draw sensible conclusions from data reviews
  • Proactive, highly motivated and enthusiastic
  • Willingness, ability and resilience required to learn quickly and work in a challenging, fast-paced, dynamic team environment
  • Proven ability to work to deadlines, prioritising and multitasking as required.

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a data analysis role in a Procurement/Finance environment
