The role will require travel across the UK.

As a Process Engineer you will support the technical project activities across our existing water and wastewater operational contracts and existing Technical Services contracts including the development of new contracts and technical solutions.

The successful candidate will develop innovative solutions to optimise treatment processes and assets to meet Environmental Compliance requirements and deliver operational excellence. You will use your broad water and wastewater treatment knowledge to support the wider Veolia business, including Operations, Business Development, Project Management and Asset Management teams.

What you'll be doing;

Delivering technical projects for the water sector

Process troubleshooting and process validation, utilising modelling tools and process calculations to predict performance, create business cases and demonstrate project potential

Utilising knowledge of water and wastewater processes and technologies for optioneering, process selection and conceptual design

Analyse and interpret technical data and measure, monitor and benchmark process performance

Mentor and assist in the development of Process Engineers/Graduate Engineers. Review Process Engineers'/Graduate Engineers' work

Lead/support commissioning, operation start-up and compliance investigation reporting

Design and engineering, costing, owning and managing the delivery of efficiency and compliance improvement projects

Design, develop, validate, trial and promote new technical solutions to the business and wider market place, ensuring the best available technology (BAT) is utilised

Develop the competence of Veolia staff; prepare, deliver and review documentation to support these activities, including relevant training/engagement material, providing ongoing guidance, mentoring and assistance

Provide technical governance across Veolia, liaise and work with Operations and Business Development to ensure that process performance obligations in proposals and contracts are

clear and achievable and that risks are balanced. Actively contribute to peer reviews during all project phases

Contribution to strategic projects: Interface with Veolia's Innovation, R&D and other specialist technical teams

Active support of Business Development in Client engagement and relationship building, representing the expert capabilities of Veolia externally

Input into new plant design and operating philosophy, participation in design reviews, HAZIDs and HAZOPs

Development of Capex and Opex budgets, sensitivity analysis, commissioning and O&M plans

Pre-contract audits of Customer Operations, characterisation studies, risk audits and workshops and liaising with Customer representatives regarding process and performance issues

What we're looking for;

Degree in a relevant technical subject (e.g. Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Control Engineering, Environmental Engineering or similar disciplines)

Experience in process optimisation, troubleshooting, process design and / or operational performance support of water and wastewater treatment plants

Team player with a problem-solving skill set capable of adapting to changing circumstances

Sound knowledge of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality principles as applicable in the water sector

Desirable:

Water sector understanding with experience in developing technical projects, solutions and designs

Experience with commercial bids and financial models

Membership of a relevant professional institution

Proven track record of developing successful relationships with Clients

Ability to quickly identify technological solutions and commercial approaches to assist in the development of business growth

Able to demonstrate abilities in water design and operation

Capability to identify and develop solutions to improve existing water contracts to increase efficiency and performance

Knowledge of DSEAR, WIMES, P&IDs and Regulatory Standards
