PR Executive - London

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated self-starter to join the PR team at Firmdale Hotels. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an exciting team responsible for PR and communications across our eight hotels and restaurants in London and three in New York.

The role will provide an opportunity to work across for one of the UK's most successful luxury hotel brands helping to build and maintain awareness using creative ideas and innovative strategies.

Job role and responsibilities:

  • Support the PR team ( PR & Marketing Director, Head of PR, F&B PR manager) in the successful execution of Firmdale Hotels PR strategy, including promoting the hotels, restaurants and bars, hotel experiences and events
  • Help ensure the smooth running of the busy Firmdale Hotels press office managing press information and image requests, responding to media enquiries and keeping image libraries and information logs up-to-date
  • Pitching ideas and stories to the press and identifying and generating editorial opportunities
  • Continuously monitoring the press and news agenda to keep abreast of new developments and updates in relevant sectors
  • Manage the PR inbox and respond to press, blogger, image and filming requests
  • Maintain and create media lists, logs and editorial calendars
  • Monitor coverage through an organised record of print and digital clippings
  • Assist with the organisation of press events including managing invites attendance and confirming attendees
  • Produce weekly and monthly PR reports
  • Arrange and attend regular press meetings - at least one per week
  • Be proactive and reactive using creativity and initiative to get the job done effectively
  • Work closely with the head of PR and Director of PR & Marketing and the wider comms team to ensure an effective and productive working relationship

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year's work experience working in PR either agency or in house
  • Excellent and demonstrable grammar and writing skills
  • An interest in and knowledge of the hotel sector, travel, food and drink and interior design
  • Proven communication skills
  • Great contacts and the desire to make more
  • Willingness to learn, be proactive and use initiative
  • An ability to work flexibly as part of a busy team
  • A passion for consuming press and good awareness of the media landscape
