SSQ is working with a specialist Planning Law Firm who are currently looking to hire an experienced Paralegal. They work on all aspects of planning law across England and Wales and act on behalf of a wide range of clients. The practice is commited to making a positive impact on the built environment, and are ranked band 1 for planning law in several legal directories.

Details of this role include:

  • Working alongside their team of lawyers and other paralegals assisting a range of clients, consultants, solicitors and barristers on a variety of projects.
  • Legal research – conducting comprehensive research on planning legislation/case law & policy in particular.
  • Client contact.
  • Preparing various legal agreements.
  • Assisting with court proceedings and planning appeals.

The firm are open to candidates undertaking part-time SQE training alongside the role. If desired, it would be possible to qualify into the practice within 2.5 years.

The ideal candidate:

  • Will have professional Paralegal experience (SQE not necessary).
  • Will have experience in a law firm or barrister’s chambers AND/OR the broader real estate sector e.g. a planning consultancy, built environment consultancy or architectural practice, heritage or other development specialist consultancy, or in a council planning department.
  • Will have exceptional organisational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously whilst meeting deadlines.
