Due to expansion, an exciting opportunity has presented itself for a second Operations Manager to join our team.

What are we looking for:

The Operations Manager will report to the General Manager and work as a member of the Management Team. The primary responsibility of the Operations Manager is to ensure organisational effectiveness by providing leadership for the companies operational functions.

Working between our offices in Coventry and Nuneaton, the successful candidate will need to be prepared to travel should the need arise, with the use of a Company vehicle.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage customer relationships, as customer service sits at the forefront of this role.
  • Ensures that all Security Service colleagues are operating and performing their duties according to the Assignment Instructions
  • Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the allocated security teams including Dog Handlers, Security Guards, Duty Supervisors and Schedulers.
  • Act as Escalation 1 out of 3 weekends
  • Implement effective controls and monitor processes
  • The ability to exercise command and control
  • Be an effective communicator to all peer groups and management levels
  • Participate in site Investigations and report findings
  • Ability to tailor security solutions for clients
  • Grow the business – Upselling to existing clients and new B2B sales
  • Be able to conduct quality risk assessments and draft mitigating security actions, recommendations and solutions as a result of findings
  • Uphold existing and implement new company policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents, interventions, and outcomes for reporting and analysis purposes.
  • Stay informed about current security trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements relevant to event security.
  • Provide guidance and training to all staff on security procedures and emergency response protocols.
  • Coordinate and communicate between support departments including Accounts, Compliance, HR and Training.

Role requirements:

  • SIA Licence (frontline) - essential
  • Full Drivers licence (manual) – essential
  • ISOH Course (Managing Safely) - desirable
  • IOSH Leading Safely – desirable
  • Management and leadership experience within the Security Industry – essential
  • Previous experience as an Operations Manager within the Security Industry – desirable
  • Knowledge of the Security Industry including operational and client requirements – Essential
  • Event Management - Essential
  • Sound knowledge of security pricing - desirable
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills - desirable
  • Possess strong leadership qualities and excel at coordinating multiple stakeholders to achieve common security objectives - essential
  • Proven record of staff management and development - essential
  • Attention to detail to proactive approach to implement effective mitigation strategies - essential
  • Excellent communication skills - essential

Salary: up to £36,000 pro rata for the best candidate. As part of the role there will be a requirement to cover the out of hours escalation on a rotating basis, this will be paid additional to the salary agreed at the agreed rate.

Working pattern: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday – 40 contracted hours, inclusive of a 30-minute unpaid break. Start and finish times to reflect the needs of the role primary focus on Saturday and Sunday.
