Ref: 37958A world-leading Investment Bank is looking for an Operational Risk Vice President for a 12-month Maternity Cover Contract. This is an opportunity to act as a 2nd Line of Defence for the Operational Risk Management Framework and support scenario analysis for capital purposes and risk management. The successful candidate will:
  • Assist with developing and implementing the operational risk framework across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
  • Ensure a robust second Line of Defence to provide effective identification and management of operational risk and control weaknesses across the business, and independently assess and monitor the business’ Operational Risk profile by reviewing operational risk data and reports.
  • Offer operational risk expertise, and communicate the operational risk environment to management and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain relationships with business and support functions, ensuring their understanding of the Operational Risk Framework, and challenge them to evidence proper risk management practices.
  • Enable Operational Risk Scenarios for Risk Management and capital calculation including preparing and reviewing ICAAP.
This is the ideal role for someone with:
  • Prior experience within a Bank of implementing Operational Risk Management frameworks.
  • Experience within a 2LoD role providing independent challenge, analytical review, and coordinating Operational Risk scenarios.
  • Knowledge of ICAAP and experience of drafting and reviewing ICAAP submissions.
  • A solid understanding of banking products and front-to-back processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience of Ops Risk systems (IBM OpenPages/Cognos or similar).
