We have an exciting opportunity for a Merchandiser here at Findel. You will support the delivery of total company sales, achieved margin and, stock & working capital targets under guidance of the Merchandising Manager.


With responsibility for departmental range build, financial planning, forecasting, and trading in line with budgeted KPIs, you’ll ensure that the right product, in the right quantity, is in the right place at the right time to maximise availability.


You’ll manage circa 16,000 SKUs whilst being responsible for multi-channel stock management across brands & international franchise partners.


Your Role:

Some of the responsibilities of this great opportunity include:

  • Create and develop, in collaboration with Buyer, a department strategy in line with company 3-year plans for “win”, “credible”, “best of” and “exit” categories
  • Source & build, in conjunction with the Buyer, a balanced, commercial and profitable range within the agreed KPI framework to be presented for review by Senior Management team at Commercial Sign Off meeting; support the team in the range build for their product category
  • Define clear retail pricing architecture in conjunction with Buyer whilst ensuring our value for money perception isn’t compromised.
  • Create a weekly phased financial plan which delivers the departmental strategy in line with agreed KPI framework.
  • Provide suppliers with estimated production requirements to ensure effective on time launch.
  • Liaise with the import team / freight forwarders regarding direct import shipments from overseas.
  • Lead the team in the management of inbound freight via booking system ensuring booking exception reports, inspection reports and late booking notifications are kept under control.
  • Ensure team manage “Supplier Delivery Compliance” reporting, collaborating with peer group & warehouse to issue warnings and charges to suppliers where appropriate.


About You:

We’re ideally looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience in Merchandising – this is an ideal first appointment Merchandiser role.
  • Broad knowledge of computer systems, minimum of intermediate Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical thinking & problem-solving skills
  • Strong planning & organisation skills; able to work independently, plan your own time, multi-task and prioritise.
  • Excellent communication & influencing skills; able to adapt your style to get the best out of others.
  • Strong team player who works in partnership with others, shares information, knowledge & experience freely. Able to build and maintain positive relationships with internal departments
  • Commercially focussed, demonstrates sound commercial judgement with proven negotiation skills.
  • Change management focussed, able to embrace and embed change whilst effectively handling ambiguity
