MJ Quinn is a leading M&E Contractor with a solid history of installations and maintenance across the UK. We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Project Manager with experience in building services to join our established team.

The role is responsible for UK-wide projects. This pivotal role will require both office and site-based work. Overnight accommodation may be required.

We are searching for a Project Manager with well-developed communication skill and M&E industry, or similar, knowledge and experience. The Project Manager is the primary-point person responsible for planning, executing, and delivering mechanical projects on time, in accordance with specifications, and to our customers’ expectations.

To achieve these critical goals, the Project Manager will define project requirements and scope, ensure project resources from other departments and, working closely with our Energy Division and Shared Services, will oversee the efforts of the project teams.

Efficient completion of project deliverables, effective quality control, clear communication of expectations to stakeholders, and upward reporting to senior management are critical tasks that must be performed throughout each project’s lifecycle.

Mechanical Project Manager duties include:

  • Working on projects from inception to completion.
  • Site survey of potential M&E Projects, including layout design, quotation, and Client Liaison.
  • Planning various programmes
  • Managing specialist subcontractors and budget
  • Ensuring achievable targets are agreed with clients and site teams.
  • Leading project teams to ensure technical accuracy of project deliverables.
  • Technical reviews
  • Control project specific commissioning strategy.
  • Running commercial projects
  • Implementing health & safety policies and procedures of the company
  • Ensure accidents, incidents and near misses, quality failures and service deterioration trends are investigated competently, and corrective action is taken where and when appropriate.
  • Carry out regular audits of staff performance and quality of work to ensure the highest standard of service and workmanship is being achieved.
  • Handovers/closing out projects.
  • Upward reporting to senior management

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience of management on M&E projects or similar
  • Recognised Building Services Qualifications (HNC or equivalent)
  • Must be computer literate – Word, Excel, Microsoft Project.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH
  • Full UK Driving License which has been continuously held for 12 months or more, with no more than 6 points.
  • A legal right to work in the UK.

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous experience of working within the Telecoms Sector i.e., Data Centres, Telephone exchanges, etc.
  • CRM experience
