Marketing Assistant

Peoples Ford are the largest independently owned retailer of Ford vehicles in Europe. We have a very rare opportunity for a Marketing Assistant to join our Marketing department. We are looking for someone who can grow, think, dream and create and is looking for an opportunity to join a creative and successful Marketing team.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an engaging and diverse Marketing Assistant who is interested in the digital marketing world. Our ideal candidate will possess great communication skills, show willingness to learn and is not afraid of challenges.

What you will work on:

1. Social Media

  • Develop and implement social media content across various platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok) to increase brand awareness and engagement.
  • Create and curate engaging content, including posts, stories, and videos.
  • Monitor social media trends and analytics to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Analyse and report on social media performance metrics regularly to gauge success.
  • 2. Event Coordination

  • Assist in the planning and execution of company events, from concept to completion.
  • Coordinate with vendors, manage guest lists, and oversee event logistics.
  • Contribute to post-event evaluation and reporting.
  • 3. Email Marketing

  • Design and dispatch email marketing campaigns, ensuring brand consistency.
  • Manage email databases, segment lists, and track performance metrics.
  • Develop strategies to grow subscriber base and enhance email engagement.
  • 4. Website Updating

  • Regularly update website content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with the web development team for any major changes or updates.
  • Optimize website content for SEO and monitor web traffic analytics.
  • 5. Content Creation and Copywriting

  • Develop and produce high-quality, engaging content for various marketing channels, including website, social media, and email campaigns.
  • Craft compelling copy for promotional materials, advertisements, and press releases.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure a cohesive visual and textual brand message.
  • Conduct research to understand target audience preferences and tailor content accordingly.
  • Regularly review and revise content to maintain its relevance and effectiveness.
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in style, quality, and tone of voice, and optimized for search and user experience.
  • What you bring

    Skills such as multi-tasking, managing information and problem solving, ability to work across the business creatively.

    You must have high attention to detail and have a solid grasp of written English, able to produce impactful copy quickly.

    Well organised, communicative and eager to contribute to the team’s success.

    An experienced user of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tik-Tok, LinkedIn.

    A full UK driver’s license is beneficial, although not essential.

    Travel

    The role is based in our Edinburgh FordStore with the Group Marketing Team. The role has geographical responsibility for the Group and will be required to travel to all locations in Scotland and Liverpool.
