About the role

The successful candidate will take on a role of responsibility, overseeing a team of Engineers such as Electricians, Plumbers, Gas Engineers and Joiners to ensure they are trained and guided. They will be a committed individual who are strong minded, and with an aptitude for developing their own skillset as well as that of others. Your role will include:

  • Undertaking structured review of skills and performance across all technicians’ disciplines.
  • Continual review and audit of technicians working practices, ethics, customer skills and communication.
  • Preparation of individual training plans based on development needs.
  • Regular site-based audits within a defined region.
  • PPE, plant, equipment, vehicle, & stock checks.
  • Audits of company and customer specific documentation.
  • Maintaining and enhancing communication across multiple office locations.
  • General regional office-based assistance where required.
  • General estimating assistance where required.
  • Technical support with customer / site escalations.
  • Attending training sessions and then cascading content to technicians (Train the Trainer qualification beneficial).
  • Research, review and propose any other training that could add value to the team. • Review of technician’s performance and focus areas.
  • IT support / training relating to tablet PC applications, mobile solutions, and customer interfaces.
  • To plan and control all overtime, call out rota and annual leave cover for engineers ensuring 24/7 cover is provided, ensuring adequate cover is always in place.

 

 

Experience:

  • Experience in training, supporting and mentoring technicians.
  • Ideally have worked and managed engineers within a Facilities Management background.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing engineers
  • Ideally you would have served in at least one or two trades including Gas, Electrical or Air conditioning.
  • Positive, professional attitude with the ability to understand and disseminate technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work without supervision and always use initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A Full UK Driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points and no bans within the last 12 months
