The Firm

Witan Solicitors is an established specialist litigation practice focusing on Civil and Commercial Disputes, Insolvency, high value Family cases and Employment matters. Our work tends to be complex litigation in the High and County Court.


The Role

We are looking for an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our highly effective team working on an extremely varied and interesting workload which includes all aspects of civil and commercial disputes including contract disputes, shareholder/director/partnership disputes and restraint of trade. The team also assists with reputation management, insolvency and debt, professional negligence and family matters. The role will lead to a Training Contract.


The Team

We are an experienced litigation team handling a wide range of commercial and other disputes, comprising 2 Solicitors, 1 Trainee Solicitor and 2 Litigation Paralegals.


Key objectives and responsibilities

· Provide high quality legal advice to clients (under supervision)

· Meet deadlines

· Demonstrate a commercial approach in the handling of client matters Taking client instructions

· Take responsibility for matters (subject to supervision) from the outset

· Providing legal and practical advice

· Attending clients and court

· Obtaining factual and expert evidence

· Instructing counsel

· Contribute to marketing and business development activities

· Attend legal and skills training programmes to continuously improve your skills and knowledge


Academics

o A minimum upper second class Bachelor's degree in Law or SQE1

o Completed or in the process of completing the LPC/BPTC or SQE2


Experience

· The following is a necessity

o Litigation experience

o A firm grasp of contract law

o Proficiency in standard IT applications including Outlook, Word and Excel

· Familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules
