Leap29 have an exciting Land Management opportunity available, on behalf of a global IPP that specialise in the development, financing, construction and operation of utility-scale solar PV and BESS assets.



About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Land Manager who will be responsible for securing the necessary land agreements to support the development and delivery of high-quality renewable energy projects in the UK.



The successful candidate will be expected to lead activities such as identifying and engaging with potential landowners, undertaking initial feasibility assessments, negotiating Heads of Terms and then leading preparation and registration of land agreements, including leases, options, wayleaves and letters of authority.

Other key responsibilities will be managing networks of land agents and engaging with other disciplines such as planning and engineering teams.



Key Responsibilities:


The ideal candidate would hold the following responsibilities (but not limited to):



  • Identifying, analysing and securing land rights for renewable energy projects.
  • Contributing to securing satisfactory project opportunities and collaborating closely with our site acquisition, grid, project management, commercial and legal teams.
  • Managing, negotiating and securing land option and lease agreements.
  • Developing strong relationships with internal team members.
  • Conducting site visits and meetings with landowners and development consultants, updating site visit reports, where applicable.


Key skills and experience


  • Land / Legal / Planning Qualification (degree level as a minimum).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Land Manager / Agent, identifying, negotiating and securing land rights for large infrastructure projects (ideally renewables – Solar, BESS, or Wind).
  • Experience in negotiating and securing Exclusivity Agreements, Head of Terms, Option and Lease Agreements, Wayleave and Easements
  • An understanding of planning and consenting processes.
  • Experience of managing project stakeholders
