As a Junior Buyer, you will be responsible for buying in component product parts and raw materials to support our manufacturing processes, managing the relationship with existing suppliers and developing relationships with new ones if required.

You will use your experience to evaluate and drive supplier performance, ensuring that our suppliers achieve in terms of delivery, cost and quality. You will also challenge poor supplier performance, taking action against any non-conformances.

It will be essential that you work closely with the leadership team in order to understand future order book requirements in order to build and maintain stock levels.

Main Duties

  • Purchasing admin.

  • Raising POs and MRP requisitions.

  • Raising POs for consumables.

  • Ad-hoc purchases.

  • Chasing necessary order acknowledgments.

  • Regular progressing on delivery time.

  • Running production shortage reports.

  • Liaising with and between departments.

  • Actioning reschedule requisites in a timely fashion.

  • Bid support, managing requests for quotations.

  •  Essential requirements

  • SAP experience or equivalent ERP system.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.

  • Strong IT Skills in particular Microsoft Excel.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships.

  • Strong telephone manner.

  • Efficient time management.

  • Desired Experience

  • CIPS or other recognised qualification or working towards CIPS

  • Buying experience.

  • Project experience.
