About the role

In your role as Investment Analyst you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset.

This role will provide a great opportunity to join the Dynamic Asset Allocation (DAA) team, which is part of the Investment Strategy & Advice (ISA) department of USS Investment Management (USSIM) Limited:

  • USSIM is the wholly owned investment manager and advisor of USS, the pension trusteepany
  • The ISA department is a central team, responsible for the construction and implementation of the investment strategy and providing investment advice to stakeholders across the DB and DC sections of the scheme
  • The Dynamic Asset Allocation team is responsible for managing a dynamic overlay programme to tilt the asset allocation of the Scheme in function of the prevailing market environment
  • This early career role involves the support of discretionary multi-asset investment process, contribution to portfolio maintenance, performance attribution and risk analysis.

    The individual is expected to lead the management of DAA team’s internal infrastructure and maintaining close relationship with internal stakeholders.

    What you will be doing

    As a trusted part of the ISA – Investment Strategy & Advice you will be responsible for:

  • Provide ongoing support within the portfolio management team
  • Run, update, and improve various monitoring dashboard of quantitative and qualitative economic, financial, or monetary databases
  • Maintain and update portfolio management data and team documentation
  • Manage the team internal infrastructure requirements and ensurepliance with internal audit requirements
  • Produce daily reporting requirements
  • Adhere to “best in class” processes including risk modelling management
  • Contribute towards well researched investment themes and ideas, assembling data and analysis

  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree
  • Proficiency in Excel or Basic programming skills (, Python) would be essential
  • Some previous use of Bloomberg would be advantageous
