The Opportunity:



We are seeking an In-house Contracts Lawyer to safeguard the firm's legal and business interests by ensuring that all contractual agreements are sound, enforceable, and advantageous.



General duties include, but are not limited to:



  • Drafting Contracts : Create legally binding agreements that outline the terms and conditions of business transactions. These may include service agreements, supply contracts, and more.
  • Reviewing Contracts : Examine existing contracts to ensure they comply with current laws and regulations, and to identify any potential risks or unfavorable terms for the firm.
  • Negotiating Terms : Represent the firm in negotiations with other parties to achieve favorable terms and mitigate risks. This will include making amendments to proposed contracts to better suit the firm’s interests.
  • Providing Legal Advice : Offer guidance on the legal implications of contract terms and help internal clients understand their rights and obligations under various agreements.
  • Risk Management : Identify any potential legal risks in contracts and advise on strategies to minimise these risks, thereby protecting the firm's interests.
  • Compliance : Ensure that all contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations, including industry-specific standards and international trade laws where applicable.
  • Dispute Resolution : Assist in resolving any disputes that arise from contractual agreements, either through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation.
  • Training and Education : Educate internal clients on contract management best practices and relevant legal developments to improve internal processes and compliance.
  • Maintaining Records : Keep detailed records of all contracts and related documents for reference and compliance purposes.


The successful candidate will have:



  • A minimum of 2 years’ contracts experience.
  • Diligence and attention to detail.
  • Creative problem-solving ability.
  • Robust project management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-facing skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Good negotiating skills.
