What you'll be doing

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing functional people plans that support the business strategy. You will lead the leadership and management teams to deliver short and long-term objectives in line with the functional people plan, attending key operational meetings as required. Also, you will work closely with the Directors of functional areas to identify and lead people-related change/improvement programs, including planning and executing related activities. You will also lead and support the employee relations agenda, proactively coaching and developing People Managers in all aspects of people management. Furthermore, you will oversee headcount management, partnering with relevant teams to deliver specific headcount and talent requirements. You will collaborate with the Reward CoE to shape and deliver the reward agenda, ensuring benchmark data is in place and effectively implementing the annual pay cycle. In partnership with the Talent & Development team, you will drive the talent agenda, ensuring the development and delivery of specific training and coaching interventions. Additionally, you will work with the Talent acquisition teams to attract and retain hard-to-find key skills. Throughout these responsibilities, you will work in partnership with various teams to deliver a cohesive People agenda to the business, demonstrating ownership and delivery, customer and shareholder value, business performance, and strong relationship-building skills.

Requirements of the Role

What you'll bring to the team

As the successful candidate, you will bring extensive experience in supporting a large and diverse workforce, including conducting and implementing functional operational models and sourcing reviews within a technology function. You possess strong negotiation skills and have experience working with trade unions and/or employee forums. Also, you are confident in working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with the ability to ruthlessly prioritize tasks. You have the capability to apply logic and experience to new scenarios in order to provide credible and pragmatic solutions. You possess a detailed working knowledge of UK employment law, and experience working across Europe or demonstrable evidence of supporting non-UK activity would be highly desirable. You have the ability to liaise with employees at all levels of the business and are resilient and able to work in a pressurized environment. Furthermore, you have a track record of delivery through influencing and building strong relationships, as well as a demonstrable record of showcasing the commercial value of HR interventions on an operational or project basis. Ideally, you are CIPD qualified, bringing a comprehensive understanding of HR best practices to the team.
