Vacancy – HR Assistant This is a part-time role based at the College in Queen Street, Edinburgh, with flexibility for a form of hybrid working to be agreed. Salary £27,654 per annum pro rata (pay award pending). We have an opportunity for a customer-focused and highly organised HR Assistant who will provide effective and efficient HR administrative support to the HR Manager in accordance with best employment practice. The College helps qualified doctors to pursue their careers in specialist (internal) medicine through our world-renowned education and training programme. We ensure that the views and practical clinical experiences of our membership are taken into account by health policymakers throughout the UK and communicated to the media and the public. We provide resources and information to support and facilitate professional development for physicians throughout their careers. The Role As well as assisting with day to day enquiries you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of a range of HR services. Key activities: · Ensuring the on-boarding of new staff is effectively carried out including carrying out pre-employment checks and induction pack preparation. · Maintaining all active and leaver people files and records, ensuring these meet current legislation, GDPR requirements and College retention policies. · Provide administrative support in the co-ordination of learning and development activities for College staff. The Person You will have meticulous attention to detail, the ability to learn and deliver set internal procedures, as well as excellent communication and team working skills. The right candidate will be a proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite and possess some knowledge and understanding of employment law.
