Hunter Adams is working with a waste management company to support them in the recruitment of a permanent stand-alone HR Advisor position.


This is a full time, permanent position, based on site in Bridge of Don.

In this standalone HR Advisor post, you will be the focal point in providing effective, efficient, and professional HR support to the Company covering all aspects of the HR Function.

Key activities will include:


  • Proactively provide guidance and advice to managers and supervisors on all people related issues and employment law matters.
  • Focal point for all HR operational matters within area of responsibility
  • Ensure active involvement in all people management activities covering the employee life cycle.
  • Responsible for the recruitment and delivery of the on-boarding.
  • Provide HR advice to managers regarding investigation and resolving ER issues, including grievances and disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure contracts of employment, employee handbook and HR policies are fit for purpose and regularly reviewed in line with legislation.
  • Provide guidance and advice to managers in aspects of health and well-being, ensuring internal policies and legislative requirements are followed. Includes return-to-work, long term health matters.
  • Participate in benefits review with external providers.
  • Highlight developmental or training requirements and work closely with colleagues to deliver developmental interventions.
  • Continually seek opportunities to improve employee engagement in the Company and seek to advise and coach Managers on improving this.
  • Build and maintain a close relationship with client groups to ensure that managers follow process regarding the use of HR systems.
  • Develop and maintain HR systems ensuring compliance with GDPR policies.
  • Provide monthly reports to Managers and the Board as required.

Role requirements


  • Relevant HR Advisor experience
  • Degree/CIPD Level 5 preferable
  • Ability to build good working relationships with Employees and Department Managers
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong Administration skills
  • Understanding of HR functions, policies, and procedures
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Highly confidential
