WE ARE COLLOIDS, PART OF THE TOSAF GROUP

We are seeking an experienced HS&E Officer to undertake full site responsibility and support to the business on all aspects of Health, Safety and assist with the maintenance of the sites environmental management system (IS014001). This is predominantly a Monday - Friday role, however out of hours will be required due to the needs of the business.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Guarantee that all Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to, are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
  • Develop and improve the HSE systems to maintain the company's ISO14001 certification
  • Safeguard the Company and ensure it meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting.
  • Ensure that all accidents and incidents are documented, root cause investigated and recommended improvements implemented.
  • Certify that site safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported, safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed, and employees are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • A proactive and motivated team player who can demonstrate a strong capability of engaging with the workforce and be able to effectively communicate.
  • The ability to remain calm and work well under pressure in tight deadline situations, displaying exceptional organisational skills.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in continually improving our Health, Safety and Environmental performance.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • 3+ years’ experience in an industrial role, involving process equipment, chemicals and materials.
  • Previously worked within the manufacturing or chemicals industry
  • NEBOSH qualified (general certificate), NEBOSH Environment Certificate, Fire Safety
  • COSHH Trained
  • Handling of H&S investigations
  • Experience of formulating, implementing and revising HS&E policies
