Ventro Group are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join the business, this is due to company growth and will be a full time role.The role will be responsible for monitoring compliance to Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, and through internal audit identify and develop areas for continuous improvement. The Health and Safety officer will act as the safety champion across the business, consulting regularly with staff on safe working practices, accident investigations and changing behaviors.This will be a Office and Site based role; office is based in Nottingham.Responsibilities: * Ensure Health and Safety Compliance across all contract sites * Annual review of all Company Policies * To keep business informed of any new legislation, identify gaps and implement actions to ensure conformity; * Verifying all Rams & CCP for all projects * Review of declared dynamic risk assessment * Create & Maintain all toolbox talk contents * Ensure the completion & regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment & operations * Conduct S.H.A.R.P (Safety, health and risk procedures) implementation training at sites * Weekly/Monthly site visits to conduct SHARP assessment and submit audit reports, work closely with SM’s & PM’s to provide feedback on SHARP Audit & follow up subsequent H&S & training needs. * Chair the monthly office H&S meetings * Liaison with any HSE / Local Authority EHO, Environment Agency, etc. * Weekly / Monthly review of accident/incident Near Miss Database with analysis of lessons learnt with Accident / Incident investigation & reporting, etc., including reporting to HSE and liaison with Insurers/Solicitors wherever necessary, etc. * Support the PM’s with any H&S inquiries from clients * Ensure the company is appropriately covered with H&S required first aiders & fire wardens * Take Lead in the training of Managers and Contractors on health and safety issues and risks, Liaising with any external Health & Safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services * Management / facilitation of Safety Schemes in Procurement * Production of monthly Management/Board HSE Reports * Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed. * Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation & communicate relevant changes to the business. * Maintains records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required. * Maintenance of own Continued Professional Development * Performs other related duties as assigned.Skills/Traits: * Strong knowledge of health and safety statutory regulations. * Excellent communication and presentation skills. * NEBOSH Construction certificate is essential. * NEBOSH Environmental Certificate and NEBOSH Fire Certificate would be an advantage. * Previous experience as a Health and Safety Officer in a similar environment. * Ability to work to tight deadlines in a pressurised working environment; * Full UK Driving license.Ventro Group values diversity and promotes equality.
