Job Description: Head of Humanities Location: Birmingham, West Midlands Job Type: Contract, Full-Time, Temp to Perm Salary: £40,000 - £47,000 Per annum Qualifications: - PGCE - DSL Qualification - Previous experience working as head of department Skills: - Previous experience working as head of department - Ability to oversee other teachers - Flexibility to arrive before and after school Job Duties: - Lead and manage the Humanities department - Develop and implement curriculum plans in line with educational standards - Monitor and evaluate teaching strategies and student progress - Provide guidance and support to department staff - Represent the department in meetings and liaise with senior management Required Qualifications: - PGCE qualification - DSL Qualification - Previous experience working as head of department Experience: - Previous experience working as head of department in an educational setting Knowledge and Skills: - Strong leadership and management skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities - In-depth understanding of curriculum development and educational standards Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in Education or related field Working Conditions: - Full-time position with flexibility to work before and after school hours - Collaborative work environment with other department heads - Regular meetings with senior management and staff
