Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated General Foreman to join our dynamic team for an upcoming highways project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee daily operations on-site, ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with project plans and specifications.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, supervise, and motivate site teams, including subcontractors and laborers, to achieve project goals.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure all health and safety regulations are strictly followed, conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate and manage materials, equipment, and workforce to optimise productivity and efficiency.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Address any issues or challenges that arise on-site promptly and effectively.
  • Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role on highways or civil engineering projects.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or construction management. CSCS card and SMSTS certification are highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of highways construction techniques, materials, and safety standards.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and nights, as required by the project schedule.
