Your opportunity

This is a key role in the External & Regulatory reporting team which is responsible for ensuring all external statutory reporting is produced accurately and in a timely manner for the UK and Europe. We are looking for someone with strong reporting experience with a focus on UK IFRS and FRS101 statutory financial statements.

  • Oversight and preparation of statutory financial statements under FRS101.
  • Managing the audit process and a key point of contact for the auditors, for UK and European statutory audits
  • Review of the UK regulatory group consolidation and reporting on the results and performance on a monthly and quarterly basis, including Income statement and balance sheet analytics and related commentary
  • Review and managing the balance sheet reconciliation process for designated entities
  • Technical accountant relating to application of IFRS and local GAAP rules providing support as a subject matter expert in accounting for Pensions, Leases, and Intangible assets. Preparation of technical accounting papers as required
  • Provision of information for inclusion in Group’s annual and quarterly accounts
  • Assisting in the preparation of Regulatory returns
  • Provide detailed information, financial analysis and other reporting to internal and external clients, including board reporting
  • Support Finance transformation through participating in current state and future state assessment activities
  • Creation of current state assessment document with all the gaps including process, technology, controls and change documented
  • Develop future state process maps and document key design decisions
  • Work with process owners to identify and resolve all emerging issues on transformation program

  • Must have skills

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), with significant post qualification experience in financial control
  • Good working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Experience of partnering with Senior Management
  • Advanced competency with Microsoft Excel and proficiency with other Microsoft tools
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work accurately and independently with excellent attention to detail and pride in presentation and delivery of workpapers
  • Results driven approach, including ability to make enhancements and improvements to processes and increase transparency of analysis
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly, but also enthusiasm to take time to understand the area and its requirements
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work with the team – and with others at Janus Henderson
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Nice to have skills

  • Proficiency with SAP (ERP, BPC and BAO) will be beneficial
  • Exposure working in a complex group structure and multi country environment
  • Investment management experience preferred but not essential
