To support our growth and development, we’re looking for a Financial Controller to join our innovative team based in Edinburgh. You will collaborate with our Operations and Engineering teams to assess business workflows, implement processes, and improve the stock management function. You will also support our Accountant and CEO with cost control and budgets. Responsibilities

  • Issue sales order confirmations, POs, invoices and manage payments
  • Create payment schedules of suppliers and customers
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, performing account reconciliations, resolving any discrepancies & maintaining ledgers including audit trail support for all entries
  • Issue invoices based on agreed terms and resolve invoice queries
  • Complete HMRC filings and returns
  • Daily maintenance of our finance system, covering all daily processes and controls
  • Oversee the purchase ledger functions
  • Provide daily cashflow management/planning/forecasting and bank accounts maintenance
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns
  • Manage our payroll function
  • Manage expenses
  • Manage negotiations with current and potential suppliers and vendors

Requirements

  • A proven track record in financial administration
  • Highly proficient in data entry and Excel. Experience with Sage would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work to tight schedules and manage multiple projects
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record keeping
  • Result-focused, metric-driven with a commitment to tasks
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
