Hutcheon Mearns have been engaged by our oil services client to source a Financial Accountant on a full time, staff basis. This role will be based in Westhill with flexible hours and an excellent working environment. The Opportunity 

  • Assist in monitoring and management of daily cash balances providing key forecast information to the FC for efficient Treasury management
  • Assist in preparing the monthly cashflow update and cash analysis
  • Monthly cash actual analysis
  • Work and support the FC on cash management
  • Assist SFA in statutory reporting for all established legal entities and branches
  • Participate in the annual audits and assist with overall compilation of audit schedules and with audit queries
  • Assist with the timely preparation and issue of Management and intercompany charges
  • Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with preparing the VAT/sales tax returns within prescribed deadlines and US franchise tax management
  • Support SFA with tax returns for all legal entities
  • Assistance with preparation of R&D claims
  • Support with the maintenance of inventory held in multiple locations and entities
  • Assist in preparing inventory and cycle count analysis
  • Background and Experience

  • Part Qualified, Qualified or QBE
  • Practice or industry experience
  • Previous statutory accounting experience essential
  • Up to date knowledge of current financial law, accounting principles and basic internal controls
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently and make decisions in an international finance role
  • Good knowledge of Epicor, SAP or equivalent accounting package
  • Ability to plan, control and take responsibility for own work and related decisions
  • Problem solving approach and a ‘get it right first time’ attitude
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and good teamwork skills
  • Strong ability to perform well under pressure of a high and varied workload, tight deadlines and changing job priorities
  • Attention to detail in all aspects of the job role
