The Opportunity

Reporting into the Director of the Financial Accounting team for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, you will play a key role in this dynamic business, supporting in the financial accounting team. Your role will involve a mixture of financial accounting, financial reporting, promoting financial best practice in addition to business partnering with key stakeholders. As an innovative organisation, you can expect to work in an environment of continuous improvement and striving for excellence. Your responsibilities in this role will include; 

  • Examining financial records and accounting statements 
  • Ensuring the delivery of monthly results and supporting analysis in line with reporting timetable
  • Ensuring UK GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS compliance (and other European GAAP)
  • Supporting the review of account reconciliations for the region 
  • Analysing accounting systems used by the business to review opportunities to improve or standardise controls 
  • Supporting audits, Sarbanes Oxley controls, statutory filings and financial projects as required 
  • You will work closely with stakeholders from different sites and countries and will hold a highly interactive role. 

    Background and Experience 

    This role requires a blend of technical financial accounting coupled with excellent communication skills and self-motivated attitude. You may be making your first move from professional practice (Audit or Accounts Preparation), you may have a proven track record in Financial Accounting in industry, or you may be ambitious to progress, perhaps in the late stages of a professional qualification and this is your next step. 

    Highly desirable skills or experience for this position would be; 

  • Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience 
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (beneficial)
  • Strong pro-active communication skills
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage time effectively
  • Some financial modelling, process building or project management skills
  • Strong IT skills - Microsoft Excel and preferably exposure to ERP systems such as Oracle or Dynamics 
  • A passion for continuous improvement
  • Credibility and an ability to influence stakeholders

  • 37.5 hours working week, (8.30 - 5pm Mon to Thurs, 8.30-4pm Friday) (there may be some flexibility on start/finish times)
