We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a Finance Officer on a permanent basis in Rochdale. This position will report into the Site Finance Manager and is a brilliant opportunity for someone to become part of the finance team!

Shift Pattern

5 days Monday - Friday

Hybrid working - 4 days on site

Salary

Up to £35,000 dependant on experience.

Duties and responsibilities:

· Produce various cost lines within weekly accounts and be able to explain the variances with meaningful commentary to operational stakeholders and Finance Manager.

· Completion of weekly reports and analysis for the Customer, including KPL and hours analysis.

· Support Finance Manager with annual budgets and forecasts for both Wincanton and the customer.

· Ensure accurate accrual and prepayment postings into the ledgers.

· Attend weekly cost reviews with Finance and Senior Operational employees – explaining costs and variances as and when required.

· Manage time, attendance output and Payroll on site through exception reporting & dealing with all queries in relation to any overtime/amendments.

· Month end procedures, including balancing costs reported, and ensure all risks and opportunities are flagged to Finance Manager.

· Variance analysis.

· Fuel forecasting and system monitoring and reconciliation, ensuring we always have sufficient fuel stocks.

· Outbase reporting – monitoring and training of outbase employees, where necessary, on the reports required by Finance to correctly capture operational costs each week.

· Reconciliation and control of monthly & weekly salaries in terms of establishment numbers and cost.

· Monthly Balance Sheet reviews, flagging any concerns to Finance Manager.

· Supervision of Assistant Accountant (AT4).

· Lead weekly fleet meeting and ensure minutes are actioned.

· Completion of all month end processes to achieve required deadlines for both Wincanton and Customer Period Ends.

· Support Operators with their understanding of the operation cost drivers.

· Working with the Finance Manager in developing further the site reporting model for P&L’s, Stats and KPI’s

· Report and monitor key performance indicators.

· Work with Credit control to ensure invoicing is accurate and timely.

· Drive accurate and timely dataflow from the operation.

· Raise sales invoice to the customer in a timely fashion.

· Holiday cover for AT4 on contract.

· To undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the role.

Person specification

Experience, skills and attributes:

Essential:

· Ability to work under his/her own initiative as well as part of the team

· The successful candidate will have positive personality with a can-do attitude, a questioning mind who is happy to challenge back the operation when reviewing costs to find the right answer

· Has completed their AAT qualification.

· Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work accurately under pressure, plus flexible to the needs of the business during key reporting periods

· Demonstrate and possess an excellent and diverse range of Microsoft office skills

· Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work accurately under pressure, plus flexible to the needs of the business during key reporting periods

· Has worked previously in finance/accounting.

Desirable:

· Experience in logistic or a manufacturing background in a fast-paced environment

· Has produced or has assisted to produce weekly accounts

· Is keen to progress within the workplace and has interest in completing further studies (ACCA/CIMA)

· Has previously worked in a similar role in accountancy/ finance

· Confident on excel (basics of VLOOKUP's, Pivot tables, SUMIFS)
