Hutcheon Mearns are recruiting for a Finance Manager, for a Dundee based manufacturing business, to take on a lead finance role at their manufacturing site in Dundee. A subsidiary of a larger group, this organisation is well-established, highly innovative and a leader in its field producing product solutions for a fast-paced sector. Reporting into the Site Director, this position is both a hands-on financial management role and finance business partnering lead in the organisation.

The Opportunity: 

You will be responsible for the preparation, delivery and oversight of all financial information and will have management responsibility for 1 member of staff. Your remit will include management accounting including product costing, reconciliations and financial analysis of results. You will prepare monthly forecasts and budgets and will manage the reporting cycle. Working with the Payroll and Finance Assistant, you will oversee payroll for 90 employees and have responsibility for business taxes, VAT, payroll and R&D. 

This position is the Finance Business Partner for the site therefore, you will work closely with key stakeholders to ensure accuracy of information and clear communication of financial matters. You will liaise with the European Shared Service Centre and local and regional management on a regular basis. The organisation uses SAP and Sage Payroll software amongst other packages. The role will offer the opportunity to be involved in improvement projects and will be a key player in the Dundee team. 

The Successful Candidate: 

The successful candidate will ideally be a Qualified by Experience or Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / CA) but relevant experience will be considered. You will have strong interpersonal and presentation skills and have a proven ability to communicate financial information to a wide range of stakeholders. Experience of payroll reporting is essential and experience of ERP systems such as SAP, highly desirable. You will have a proven track record of working in a varied role in a fast-paced sector and have strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Working pattern and Benefits?

The working hours for this post are 37.5 hours per week with the opportunity to work in hybrid pattern - 4 days in office and 1 day from home (Friday). Working hours are Monday to Thursday 9am - 5.30pm (core hours 9am - 4pm) and 9am - 2.45pm on a Friday. There is flexibility on offer around start/end times to suit.
