The Role:

Position: Finance AssistantLocation: Glasgow (Hybrid working /Home)Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon-Thu 9.00 am – 5.30 pm, Fri 8.30 am-4.30 pm)

As a Finance Assistant, you'll support our Group Finance team with daily treasury activities and reporting, assisting with invoicing, and ensuring compliance and controls within the finance function. This role is perfect for someone part-qualified or actively studying towards AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.

What you will be doing:
  • Daily cashbook transactions: Post and reconcile transactions to bank statements.
  • Reporting: Produce daily bank balances and receipt reports.
  • Invoicing: Raise and allocate various invoices.
  • Payments: Prepare manual and BACS payments, maintain logs, and forecast cash flow.
  • Reconciliations: Monthly bank, balance sheet, intercompany accounting, and fixed assets.
  • External Audits: Assist with auditor requests.
  • Management Accounts: Produce accounts for smaller subsidiaries.
  • Statistics Reporting: Complete ONS forms for several entities.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve processes and systems.

What you will bring:

Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with daily cash book postings and monthly reconciliations.
  • Intermediate Excel skills for report building and analysis.
  • Familiarity with financial control and audit implications.
  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Construction is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the COIN ERP system is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and a methodical approach.
