In pursuit of our cause, ProjectX is Medea’s first Location Based Immersive Experience, opening in London in 2025. We are recruiting for someone to join our production team to help deliver ambitious projects - as the production backbone - to great success.

Medea Creative Productions is a creative production company formed in 2022, made up of a team of UK and international cross-disciplinary experts and specialists across immersive experiences, performing arts, festivals, TV and film. Collectively we have 100+ years’ experience of creating and bringing to life ground-breaking, inspiring and transformative experiences.

Medea aims to shine a light on the production, circulation, digestion and impact of information so that people can be empowered to make factually informed choices. We help people to think critically via The Arts, through highly playful, personalised, awe-inspiring experiences: this is impactful storytelling with purpose.

Medea has built a network of world-class creators, researchers and designers to deliver projects and multi-channel activations beginning in 2024 in London. Our high production immersive entertainment will engage and empower audiences, placing them at the heart of the experience.


ProjectX (working title) is an entertainment-forward, narrative-driven, highly-interactive, multi-sensory, location based experience which is physically, psychologically and ontologically immersive. We design for awe. Tuning into our bodies, minds and emotions to create impactful storytelling with purpose.


What you will be doing:

  • Reporting to the Head of Production, with key relationships including the Producers, Production Designer and Head of Technical Design, lead Production Management (including technical and live), for a new large scale location based experiential production (LBE).
  • Collaborating closely with producers, production and creative teams to conceive and develop an original and ambitious LBE.
  • Alongside the Producers and Head of Production, developing and overseeing a comprehensive and robust delivery plan for the creative vision, inline with the cause-first ethos for the production, with efficiency and in-budget, including planning detailed build and fit out, technical rehearsal, opening and running schedules.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the technical aspects of the production are completed safely, on time and within budget.
  • Overseeing and planning, delivery and striking of all technical and production elements, including set design, site infrastructure, scenic, interactive elements, and other production departments.
  • Working closely with the Head of Production, to ensure all on-site build and production elements are delivered on-time, to budget and to the utmost quality.
  • Line management and care for all on-site production and technical staff.
  • Ensure all core onsite production and technical staff have correct training (health and safety and job specific) for their roles. Running site inductions as required and liaising with the Head of Production and Producers to book external training as required.
  • Conduct audits In collaboration with the Head of Production and Producers, to ensure adequate and up-to-date RAMs and licenses are in place for all activities and contractors. Ensuring they are adhered to for all on-site production and technical activity.
  • Provide a practical, hands-on, solution-based approach to day to day technical operations and logistics management.
  • Supporting the Head of Production to deliver comprehensive budget reports to the Producers, maintaining financial transparency and accountability.
  • Ensuring all onsite production elements adhere to the project's robust Health & Safety guidelines, upholding the highest levels of technical health and safety throughout build, within the live experience, back of house and in load out.
  • Alongside the Production and Design team, develop site specifications and design documentation for the project, with expertise in operational, practical and technical LBE production.
  • With the Head of Production and Site Manager, arrange relevant building-wide PAT testing, inspection of electrical installations and lifting equipment by certified contractors and to keep up-to-date records.
  • Ensure the housekeeping and maintenance of all backstage areas, including dressing rooms, production offices and control rooms.
  • Liaise with all departments to schedule waste collections as required.


What proven experience you will need:

  • Strong Production Management background (5+ years), including technical scoping, site management, H&S, Licencing and event build.
  • Proven experience with technical aspects of theatre production, including sets, wardrobe, LX, sound, props, bespoke interactives and special effects, with the ability to oversee their design, construction and execution.
  • Experience managing Production Teams (especially on-site), including contractors, scenic artists, technicians, stage crew and other production staff.
  • Solid project management, budgeting and scheduling skills.
  • Integral understanding of technical production and design, including audio/sound, lighting, bespoke technology, special effects and interactive mechanics.
  • Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations. Ideally holding NEBOSH or IOSH qualifications.
  • A bias for and experience in sustainable production practices.

  • Solutions oriented mentality and desire to work collaboratively with the team in mounting a brand new production.
  • Ability to adapt nimbly in an untraditional setup and environment; exceptional problem solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, manage and motivate production teams effectively. Strong, proven pre-production and onsite build leadership skills.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Sketchup and Vectorworks.
  • Passion for delivering the best audience experience possible.
  • Ambitious and tenacious attitude.

What’s next:

  • The interview process will be over 2 stages:
  • 2 x 1 hour interviews, with a mixture of Medea executives and leaders (we prefer in-person (Soho, London) where possible
