Job Title: SEN English TeacherLocation: Southampton, United KingdomStart Date: September 2024Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term, Temp to PermWe are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN English Teacher to in Southampton starting in September 2024.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality English lessons tailored to the diverse needs of our students, helping them to develop their literacy skills and build confidence in their abilities.

Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to students with a range of special educational needs.

Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and other staff.

Use a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the individual needs of students.

Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.

Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and well-being.

Collaborate with other teachers, teaching assistants, and external professionals to support student learning.

Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in SEN education.

Person SpecificationQualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialisation in English.

Experience teaching students with special educational needs is highly desirable but not essential.

Strong understanding of SEN best practices and legal requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to improving the educational outcomes of SEN students.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
