Role Overview As an Engineering Manager at FundApps, you will be instrumental in delivering outstanding business outcomes by: nurturing and developing our exceptional engineering talent; driving high performance; and fostering a culture of inclusivity and collaboration. Your key responsibilities will include:

People & Talent

  • Lead the hiring and onboarding of new FundAppers
  • Retain and develop top-tier talent within the engineering team
  • Maintain a high bar for individual and team performance
  • Manage and align individual growth trajectories with team and business objectives.
  • Participate in the annual review and promotion process, providing insights and feedback to support career development within the engineering team
  • Create an inclusive environment that enables each team member to perform at their best

  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and decisiveness within the team
  • Live the FundApps and Engineering values and seek the same in your people and teams
  • Promote transparency at all levels, and with all stakeholders
  • Empower engineers to make sound decisions regarding design, implementation, and operational concerns
  • Own (and iterate on) team delivery process, including planning, work breakdown, retrospectives, pre-mortems, and risk assessments
  • Keep your team on track, ensuring consistent and predictable delivery of meaningful value
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with peers across various departments (product, client success, content, etc.) to align on delivery decisions and foster collaboration.
  • Technical management

  • Facilitate architectural oversight and review of key technical decisions through activities such as architecture reviews and Show & Tell sessions.
  • Take ownership of support rotas, on-call duties, and incident resolution, overseeing remediation efforts and conducting Root Cause Analyses (RCAs) as needed.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • 2+ years of engineering management experience, complemented by demonstrable, relevant software development experience within a dynamic tech environment
  • Adaptable in leadership style, capable of flexing to accommodate diverse work methodologies as needed.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence decisions across various track record of technical leadership, with expertise in building products that solve real business problems.
  • Experience of fostering an inclusive and engaging team cultureProven experience of identifying, retaining, nurturing, and acquiring top talent.
  • Knowledge of our tech stack is desirable, but not a must - cloud experience is a definite advantage!

This is a permanent role (not open to contracting work). We work hybrid and expect new FundAppers to work at our shiny London office 3 days per week during their probation period.
