About The Role The holder will be chiefly responsible for developing and improving Britwind’s small wind turbines. Although re-engineering individual components is key to this role, the understanding of the whole system is more vital. Identifying opportunities to improve performance, be it safety, output, robustness, or cost, is fundamental to this position. To be successful, the holder will need to work closely with all elements of this small, close-knit business and influence its direction through turning ideas into action. The holder will require the rigour and discipline to ensure that their work (literally) safely stands the test of time, but not be stifled or hide behind conservatism. This is an industry with a myriad of standards and regulations, but it’s also a niche where we are an influential player; the holder must be prepared to help write and rewrite the rules using creativity, innovation and forethought.
