Senior eCommerce Merchandiser & Trading Manager

Focus 5 Recruitment is searching for a Senior eCommerce Merchandiser & Trading Manager to join our client in helping them in achieving eCommerce excellence. In this role, you'll be central to curating and merchandising their website, blending your analytical skills with your creative flair. You'll develop a deep understanding of customer behaviour which will drive decisions to optimize product performance and enhance the overall customer journey.

Key responsibilities include analysing customer behaviours to maximize sales and meet team KPIs. You'll provide daily reports on their B2C websites, ensuring they remain competitive. By working closely with the Marketing and Design teams, you'll bring campaigns and product launches to life online, adhering to brand guidelines for a seamless experience.

Your role will involve ongoing reporting and analysis of customer behaviour, taking proactive decisions based on data insights. You'll challenge the status quo and drive innovation, supporting the delivery of an online proposition that aligns with the brand and meets ambitious business goals. Your commercial insight and data-driven strategies will be key to your merchandising and creative efforts.

What the Senior eCommerce Merchandiser & Trading Manager will do : -

  • Ensure all site pages are beautifully and strategically merchandised to maximize engagement and conversion.
  • Use analysis of customer behaviour, product performance reports, and sell-through data to drive decision-making processes.
  • Manage and maintain trend and edit categories to support marketing campaigns and reflect seasonal trends.
  • Maintain product recommendations for coordinating products to enhance cross-selling opportunities.
  • Test and improve on-site search results, managing the search dictionary weekly to enhance discoverability.
  • Conduct daily site audits to ensure all products are online and that classification and data are accurate.
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reports to support trading decisions, leveraging tools like Google Analytics and other analytics platforms such as Content Square.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of user behaviour and on-site customer journeys using analytics tools.
  • Ensure product listings are accurate, visually appealing, and optimized for search.

Experience required for Senior eCommerce Merchandiser & Trading Manager role: -

  • Excellent Ecommerce Merchandising and trading experience
  • Able to analyse sales data, customer behaviour, and analytics to make informed merchandising decisions
  • Strong organisational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across the Ecommerce, Marketing, Design and development teams
  • Proficiency in Ecommerce platforms, content management systems (CMS) and analytical tools like Google Analytics
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, contributing to a cohesive and productive work environment
  • Both analytical and creative
  • Experience using Shopify or Magento is highly desirable
