What you will do:

• As our Early Careers Manager here at Metro Bank you will lead the development and delivery of our early careers agenda (including apprenticeships) for new and existing colleagues

• Utilise the Apprenticeship Levy to develop capabilities to deliver our strategy and to support broader goals around social mobility and employability in the communities Metro Bank serves

• Partner closely with the Learning and Development Managers and HR Business Partners, understanding the capabilities and skills required to establish clear learning pathways for early careers as well as to run existing ongoing apprenticeships 

• Lead, coach and develop a small team of apprenticeship advisors and specialists

• Enhance the early careers proposition, attend external events, build a strong external network, perform market research, and provide recommendations supporting the business strategy

• Providing insights into our emerging talent capability and skills landscape to support workforce of the future

• Support the business to identify the right apprenticeship standard, working with managers to understand what good looks like, building and communicating compelling business case 

• Source training providers and manage the relationship on an ongoing basis, including supplier reviews 

• Create and maintain highest levels of internal quality assurance, training standards and safeguarding requirements, ensuring employer provider apprenticeships meet the requirements of OFSTED and ESFA

What you will need:

• Previous experience in an early careers role, including extensive experience of apprenticeships and the apprentice levy, either in an in-house role, or from a role with a training provider, or similar

• People management experience, ideally having led a team looking after early careers and/or apprenticeships

• Experience mapping job roles to appropriate apprenticeship standards to build future pipelines 

• Working knowledge of the additional responsibilities of an ‘employer provider’

• Experience of successfully taking apprentices through end-point-assessment, ideally with experience of successfully running an OFSTED visit

• Stakeholder engagement and management, supplier management 

• Safeguarding lead
