This is a permanent roleThe role of a Technician is to provide support to the department with materials and equipment. Ensuring the health, safety and welfare of students is maintained at all times.Duties include: * Tidying workshops * Cleaning machines * Disposing of waste * Ensuring tools and materials are safely and securely stored. * Inspecting and maintaining department equipment * Investigating reported faults. * Perform regular stocktakes and ensure that resources are available as and when required through ordering replacements as appropriate. * Preparing materials, equipment for lessons and be present in the workshopsThe person appointed will be a team player with a friendly disposition and good communication skills.We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.This post is subject to the satisfactory completion of an enhanced DBS check, Barred list check, the receipt of satisfactory references and other statutory checks that are required for the post.
